Into the Cess & Citadel is a supplementary TTRPG book for role-playing groups who want to incorporate a strange, colorful, and dangerous city into their adventures. The metropolis is vast, chaotic, and unforgiving: the spires of the ruling nobles tower above its streets, while dark threats lurk beneath the pavement.

This book provides a comprehensive foundation for running adventures or entire campaigns in a fantastical city. It expands the classic view of urban settings, transforming the city itself into a dungeon-like adventure space brimming with secrets, dangers, and opportunities.

Included are rules for exploring everything from small urban dungeons to a full urban game environment with disasters, factions, and encounters that react to player actions. Generators help create city areas ranging from six-mile districts down to individual buildings.

An additional essay provides suggestions on how urban adventures can be effectively prepared and led.
