Mythical beings to mortals of the Third Age, Ents were mysterious giants said to have tended the forests of Middle-earth.

They were shepherds of the trees, but in the long years since they first walked in the world their numbers had dwindled till only a few remained residing within the borders of the forest of Fangorn.

Nine different Ents were designed and built as digital creatures for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Here, those nine characters are displayed in the style of old botanical drawings.
